Whisky Ledaig Triple Wood is created by blending three variants of whisky – one part matures in ex-bourbon casks, another in casks that held port wine, and the third in those that held wine.
Master Blender Julieann Fernandez harmoniously united these three distinctive profiles to celebrate partnerships with photographer Gordon Buchanan and Mull & Iona Community Trust, and to support the restoration of island nature.
On the nose, sweet notes of poached pears with hints of cinnamon, butter, and cream emerge. The flavors transform the introduction with apple strudel and vanilla ice cream into a refined composition of black pepper, woody smoke, charred oak, and molasses-caramel toffee. The finish is long, smoky, with cloves and a hint of maple syrup.
The flavor palette showcases the typical character of Ledaig – a sharply peaty base complemented by the sweetness of fruit and the rich complexity of three wood influences. The whisky feels full, creamy, and elegant within its strong presentation. Each sip symbolizes the connection between the brand, the artist, and the community – in one single malt edition.
