Ledaig Hebridean Moon
Ledaig Hebridean Moon is a groundbreaking release from the Tobermory distillery – for the first time in history, fans of the brand can enjoy a 10-year-old whisky bottled at cask strength.
This unique single malt was created from distillate produced in new stills installed in 2014 and matured for over a decade in carefully selected bourbon casks. The whisky is a tribute to the Isle of Mull and its mystical history, specifically the ancient Baliscate Stones, which were once used to track the lunar cycle and symbolize new beginnings.
Ledaig Hebridean Moon retains the typical peaty character of Ledaig whisky, but at a cask strength of 58,8 %, it offers an even more intense and deeper experience.
Layers of earth and smoke appear on the nose, giving way to vanilla, thick cream and candied fruit with a hint of spice. The palate explodes with citrus freshness reminiscent of lemon cake, complemented by notes of leather, tobacco and gently toasted oak. The finish is long and warm, with a hint of smoke and a pinch of cinnamon.
This limited edition was created not only to celebrate the brand's development, but also as an expression of solidarity with the island community. Part of the proceeds from sales will support the local charity Mull and Iona Community Trust and nature conservation in the Ardura Community Forest.
The visual appeal is complemented by a poetic photograph by island ambassador and photographer Gordon Buchanan, who captured the nighttime spirit of Mull in the packaging of this exceptional whisky.
