Tyrconnell 10 Year Old Madeira Cask Finish

Tyrconnell Madeira Cask Finish is created through double distillation from pure malted barley and traditional Irish production methods. It is produced by the Cooley distillery, with a history dating back to 1876.

After a decade of aging in ex-bourbon casks, it undergoes a final maturation in Madeira casks, which bring additional depth, sweetness, and exotic notes.

The aroma is dominated by a combination of salty and red fruit notes, apricot and red berries, complemented by exotic spices, vanilla, and honey.

The taste is smooth and sweet, with the presence of red fruits, a chocolate undertone, caramel, spices (e.g., cinnamon, allspice), and a delicate sweetness from floral sweetness.

This slender single malt is exceptionally good neat or on the rocks, where its complexity and balance shine. The Madeira cask notes bring a sophisticated character that works well in premium cocktails or as a gentle digestif after a meal. Additionally, it has received prestigious awards, including 95 points from Jim Murray and “Recommended” from Whisky Magazine, ranking among the top 20 whiskeys according to The Proof66 Liquor Community.
