Tyrconnell 10 Year Old Madeira Cask Finish

Tyrconnell Madeira Cask Finish is produced by double distillation from pure malted barley using traditional Irish methods. It is produced by the Cooley Distillery, which dates back to 1876.

After ten years of ageing in ex-bourbon casks, it undergoes a final maturation in Madeira casks, which give this expression additional depth, sweetness and exotic tones.

The aroma is dominated by a combination of salty and red fruit tones, apricot and red berries, complemented by exotic notes, vanilla and honey.

The taste is smooth and sweet, with notes of red fruit, chocolate undertones, caramel, spices (e.g. cinnamon, allspice) and the delicate sweetness of floral sweeteners.

This slender single malt is exceptionally good neat or on the rocks, where its complexity and balance come to the fore. Madeira cask notes bring a sophisticated character that also works well in premium cocktails or as a delicate digestif after a meal. In addition, it has won prestigious awards, including 95 points from Jim Murray and ‘Recommended’ from Whisky Magazine, and ranks among the top 20 whiskies according to The Proof66 Liquor Community.
