Tyrconnell
Tyrconnell comes from a tradition dating back to 1876, when the first short production series was named after a racehorse of the same name – this brand was revived by Cooley Distillery after its acquisition in 1988.
This Irish single malt whiskey is made from 100 % malt, double distilled in copper stills, and aged exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels, giving it a smooth, creamy character with a rich sweetness.
The aroma has notes of citrus (lemon, orange), pear, vanilla, honey, white chocolate, blooming flowers, and subtle oak dust. The taste reveals tropical elements such as pineapple and guava, complemented by lemon cake, orange juice, vanilla, and fresh oak tones.
The finish is full and sustained, with hints of spice, slightly bitter oak, and sweetness - creamy and pleasantly spicy.
Tyrconnell is extremely versatile – it tastes great neat or on the rocks. Thanks to its delicate, sweet and refreshing character, it is also ideal as a base for sophisticated cocktails.
