Tomatin 12 ročná Bourbon & Sherry Casks

Tomatin 12 Year Old Bourbon & Sherry Cask is a new addition to the brand's core range for 2024. It is based on the classic 12-year-old Tomatin whisky, a Highland whisky aged in oak casks - first in bourbon and then in sherry casks. This gives it a more pronounced and richer character.

This guarantees a rich fruity aroma with hints of sweet flavors of ripe apples, pears, and nuts with a pleasant oily finish.

This whisky from the Highland region captivates not only with its taste but also with its bottle design in dark green and gold tones.

In aroma, the whisky is elegant with subtle notes of white pepper and sweet spices that add depth and sophistication. The taste is mature, fruity, and complex, with a pleasant malty character that creates a harmonious whole. The finish is long and lingering, with a balanced and smooth aftertaste.

Tomatin is a premium Scottish single malt whisky that originated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, near Inverness. The Tomatin Distillery was officially opened in 1897, but we have many good reasons to believe that whisky was illegally distilled here long before that. The history of illegal distillation in this area dates back deep into the 17th century. The very name Tomatin in Gaelic means “hill covered with juniper bushes.” Juniper wood was very popular among illegal whisky producers because it produced virtually no smoke when burned. On the distillery grounds still stands a building known as “The Old Laird’s House,” where, according to available records, cattle herders would refill their “flasks.”

Today, Tomatin is one of the largest distilleries in Scotland, but only a very small portion of its production is bottled as single malt whisky. Soft water from Alt-na-Frith is used in production, and distillation takes place in traditional copper pot stills.
