The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Chinquapin Virgin Oak + Free Gin Sul
The GlenAllachie Chinquapin Virgin Oak is a silky 10-year-old Scotch single malt whisky from the Speyside region. It matured in ex-bourbon American Chinquapin oak casks. It was finished for 18 months in specially selected French virgin oak casks.
This exceptional malt gained its complex and spicy flavor from casks made of Chinquapin oak (Quercus Muehlenbergii), which comes from the Northern Ozark region in Missouri. Chinquapin is a subspecies of Quercus Alba and imparts spicy flavors and aromas. They are air-dried for nearly four years.
The entire production and aging process was overseen by the legendary Billy Walker. This is a limited edition from the second batch, meaning that only a limited number of bottles were produced. No added colors and no chill filtration. The whisky comes in a very nice gift packaging.
Color: amber with brown reflections
Aroma: orange peel, honey, nuts, butter, nuts, sweet licorice
Taste: cinnamon, barley, sugar, cookies, rosehips, oak, citrus, honey
Finish: long, bittersweet, spice, cinnamon, wood, vanilla

The juniper distillate is created in a small, handcrafted, copper distillation apparatus. All alcoholic vapors must pass through a metal sieve containing herbs.
Cold, clear, and soft water from Lüneburg Heath, Portuguese lemons the size of grapefruits, juniper, fresh rosemary, and the oily resin from the herb cistus (rock rose) make GIN SUL exceptional. A hint of the Portuguese Atlantic coast is filled into typical white clay bottles, which protect the gin from light and heat.
