The GlenAllachie Hungarian Oak Finish 7 Year Old
Add a tasting glass and elevate your experience to the next level!
The 7-year-old Scottish Single Malt whisky The GlenAllachie Hungarian Oak Finish comes from the 3rd series Virgin Oak. The whisky first matured in ex-bourbon American oak barrels. It then underwent maturation in specially selected virgin oak barrels for approximately 18 months.
Master Distiller Billy Walker was once again searching for something innovative in whisky production. His quest led him to northeast Hungary, where low temperatures, volcanic soil, and high altitude create slowly growing oaks with a dense grain structure. These oaks were selected for the aforementioned whisky maturation. The barrels were first toasted and charred to a medium level. After maturation, the whisky is bottled at 48% alcohol by volume. No added coloring and no chill filtration.
This is one of the first single malt whiskies in the world that has been finished in Hungarian virgin oak wood. You can expect an aromatic, well-balanced, and unique flavor. The influence of all factors creates a very unique texture, depth, and diversity in the whisky.
