The GlenAllachie 19 Year Old Ex-Solera Sherry Cask Matured is a premium Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from the Masters of Wood series, highlighting The GlenAllachie's work with special casks. The whisky first matured in bourbon casks and was then transferred to rare Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso ex-solera sherry casks, which previously aged high-quality sherry for over 55 years.
The result is a deep, layered, and luxuriously sherried character with rich fruitiness, warming spices, and darker sweetness. The profile combines notes of branded plums, intense mocha coffee, honeycomb, caramel cookies, treacle tart, and cocoa. The taste continues with plum syrup, treacle, heather honey, black cherries, mocha coffee, fruit in brandy, crystallized cinnamon, and ginger.
