Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 Year Old is an elegant single malt whisky from the Scottish Highlands, whose name comes from Gaelic and means “warmth and passion.” From the very first contact, it feels warm and full, a result of a careful production process. It is distilled in the legendary tall copper stills of the Glenmorangie distillery, which are the tallest in Scotland and allow for the creation of a smooth and pure distillate.

Whisky first ages for about ten years in American oak bourbon barrels, where it gains a base of sweetness, vanilla, and gentle oak. It then matures for another two years in Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which give it characteristic depth, fruitiness, and spicy notes. It is bottled at an alcohol content of 43%, which enhances its full flavor.

In the aroma, Lasanta brings notes of dried raisins, honey, caramel, and chocolate nuts, complemented by a subtle touch of cinnamon. On the palate, it develops a complex array of dried fruit, orange, nougat, and nuts, mingling with honeyed sweetness and hints of chocolate. The finish is long and warming, with echoes of orange, cinnamon, hazelnut, and a gentle cocoa bitterness.

Best enjoyed neat at room temperature, but a few drops of water can reveal the finer layers of its fruity and nutty character. It is the perfect companion to dark chocolate, orange desserts, or nut cakes, which beautifully complement its rich and passionate nature.
