10-Year-Old rum from the Don Papa range, inspired by the story of Papa Isio, who played a significant role in the Philippine Revolution of the late 19th century.
It is produced on the island of Negros Occidental in the Philippines, where it is said that during the aging of the rum in barrels, the largest amount of alcohol evaporates in the world.
Don Papa released its 10-Year-Old rum for the first time at the end of 2014. It is a very rich rum made from molasses. It then ages for another 10 years in American oak barrels, where American whiskey previously aged. The entire aging process takes place in charred barrels, so you only get a hint of influence from the previous aging.
Don Papa 10-Year-Old hides a rich aroma and flavor, full of aromatic dark chocolate combined with charred oak and juicy raisins.
The pleasant amber color with a dense structure immediately captivates you. The rum boasts a typical sugarcane aroma, which every rum enthusiast will easily recognize. The taste is strong, rich, and features dried cherries, pineapple, nuts, and cocoa. The finish is medium-long with a very pleasant sweet caramel aftertaste.
