Don Papa Gayuma, which translates to “love elixir,” is a premium rum that pays homage to the rituals of the shamans from Mt. Kanlaon and the island of Isla del Fuego in the Philippines.
This rum ages for three years in American oak barrels that previously held bourbon, and then undergoes double maturation. It matures for six months in heavily charred barrels that held Rioja wine and another three months in oak barrels that previously contained Islay whisky, known for its distinctive peaty profile.
The aroma is filled with subtle notes of peat. The taste of the rum is delicate and smooth, with velvety tones that enhance the complexity of aging.
This rum represents a unique blend of traditional Filipino craftsmanship and innovative processing, which will be appreciated by lovers of complex and sophisticated flavors.
