Don Papa Rye
Don Papa Rye is a limited edition of Don Papa rums. It contains perfectly balanced and aromatic rum that has been aged for 4 years.
This beautifully azure, fragrant rum is fully matured in American rye barrels, giving its flavour a captivating intensity. Spicy and peppery notes combined with a subtle, sweet complexity show a completely different side of Don Papa rum.
Philippine Don Papa rums are produced at the foot of the active volcano Mt. Kanlaon, where the finest sugarcane is milled to produce sweet molasses.
Don Papa is associated with Dionisio Magbuelas or Papa Isio for short. Papa Isio lived in the second half of the 19th century and was a "Babaylan" - a healer or shaman in the local Filipino dialect - who was instrumental in the Philippine Revolution. As the company was named after him, it is not surprising that Don Papa rum is produced in the Philippines, more specifically on the island of Negros Occidental. This island has always been the sugar cane capital of the region and where the sugar cane is found, the rum is produced.
We recommend serving it with an ice cube or in various mixed drinks and cocktails.
