Chateau Selešťany Alibernet

Chateau Selešťany Alibernet is a Slovak red organic wine made from the Alibernet grape variety, which was created by crossing the Alicante Bouchet and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. This variety is classified as a color grape – the pigment is found not only in the skin but also in the flesh of the grape, giving the wine a rich dark red color.

The wine comes from the Chateau Selešťany environment, where organic wine is produced from an ecological vineyard. Selešťany is one of the wine-growing villages in the Modrokamenský region in southern central Slovakia, and the local terroir is shaped by a combination of loess soil, climate, topography, and proximity to the Ipeľ River.

The taste reveals a more pronounced cabernet character, which Alibernet inherits from one of its parents. Due to its deep color, fuller expression, and fruity-spicy style, it pairs well with more robust gastronomy, especially with steak in green pepper, veal steak with herb butter, hard blue and smoked cheese.
