Chateau Selešťany Pear Brandy

The fruit spirit Chateau Selešťany Hruškovica is made from wild pears, which used to be one of the most widespread fruit species in our country. Today they are rarely found, and foresters are removing them from the stands. If it is found, it is more or less as a pardoned solitaire, which grows into interesting shapes as a result of the activity of forest animals. For its qualities, however, it deserves more attention.

The fruit malvice is a 2-3 cm long, sweet and bitter, hard even when fully ripe. It is suitable for further use only after browning or drying. In the past, it was mainly used in folk medicine in dried form or as a fine distillate. Wild pears have more medicinal properties than cultivated pears.

The processing of wild fruits is extremely difficult. It has an unusual aroma, tinged with strange flavour undertones, and is one of the rarities that are incomparable to anything else. We recommend it to consumers, gourmets and hunters, as it is also very suitable for wild meat. It is best drunk at room temperature or slightly chilled.

The distillate has been bottled at 52 % alcohol and the bottle capacity is 0.5 litres.
