Bruichladdich Octomore 14.2 128.9ppm

Octomore 14.2 from the Bruichladdich distillery uses the same variety of barley and is malted to the same PPM concentration as 14.1, but the whisky differs significantly due to the influence of wine and sherry casks on the 14.2.

Head distiller Adam Hannett, who has over 200 different casks in stock , has selected casks that previously held Oloroso and Amarone - the distinctive sweetness and nuttiness of this combination makes for an exceptional single malt whisky.

Distillates sourced from renowned wine regions in Spain and Italy were then combined in French oak barrels, giving the single malt exceptional depth and complexity.

The pronounced smoke that is characteristic of Octomore blends well with the Oloroso sherry casks, while the influence of the wood gives the resulting spirit a distinctive, spicy flavour.

The oak from the Amarone casks also has a significant influence on the spirit, adding rich notes of red fruit - giving 14.2 structure and coherence.

The bottles are filled at 57,7 % alcohol.
