Blue Spot 7 Year Old

Blue Spot 7 Year Old is an intense Irish Single Pot Still whiskey, which belongs to the traditional Spot Whiskey family. The name comes from the historical practice of Mitchell & Son, which marked barrels with a colored spot according to their expected aging – blue was designated for the 7-year-old whiskey.

This whiskey is produced at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork from malted and unmalted barley, typical for the Single Pot Still style. Triple distillation in copper pot stills gives it a smooth texture, spicy character, and a fuller Irish expression.

Aging takes place in a combination of bourbon barrels, sherry butt barrels, and Portuguese Madeira barrels. As a result, Blue Spot has a rich and layered character, combining exotic fruit, pot still spice, sweet wood, vanilla, cinnamon, and subtle nuttiness. It is a whiskey with a more pronounced expression, suitable for slow sipping either neat or with a few drops of water.
