Green Spot Chateau Montelena is first matured in traditional ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, then 12 months in oak barrels previously used for Zinfandel wine from the prestigious Chateau Montelena in Napa Valley, California.
It is the second whiskey from the Wine Geese series, which features whiskey finished in casks from wineries of Irish winemakers around the world - the family currently running Chateau Montelena hails from Waterford!
Green Spot Chateau Montelena celebrates three famous Irish institutions - Midleton Distillery, Mitchell and Son, and Chateau Montelena - that work in harmony to create a new and innovative Irish whiskey that appeals to both whiskey and wine lovers.
Did you know? Zinfandel grapes with black skins are grown to perfection in the rich volcanic soil of Napa Valley and are hand-picked during cool nights. The grapes are full of ripe, spicy berries that give the wine a distinctive and refined fruity flavor, as well as the cask in which it matured.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 46% with a volume of 0.7 l. They are delivered in stylish gift tubes.
