Redbreast Lustau Edition is a remarkable Irish single pot still whisky from the Iberian Series, showcasing a rich Spanish touch—aged 9 - 12 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, and then finished for one year in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks from Bodegas Lustau.
This edition was created through a unique collaboration between the Irish Midleton Distillery and the Spanish sherry producer, Bodegas Lustau.
This whisky is designed for lovers of complex sherry profiles. After a classic maturation in bourbon and sherry casks, it is then finished in very high-quality Oloroso sherry casks, which add flavor layers of raisins, plums, marzipan, spices, and a subtle oak undertone. The result is a rich and elegant profile where traditional Irish pot still whisky meets luxurious Spanish influence.
The nose is dominated by intense aromas of dried fruits (raisins, dates, figs), lychee, marzipan, cocoa notes with a gentle hint of spices and toasted oak.
On the palate, the whisky is highly specialized - smooth, creamy, with a combination of flavors of milk chocolate, honey, toffee, nuts, plums, citrus peel, and spicy warmth.
