Balvenie 15 Year Old Madeira Cask

This edition of Balvenie 15 Year Old Madeira Cask whisky was matured for the first 15 years in American white oak casks, which imparted subtle notes of vanilla and honey. This was followed by the final step – finishing in casks that had previously contained sweet Madeira wine. These casks, exposed to sunlight during their voyage, naturally sweetened the wine and transferred this character to the whisky.
The result is officially bottled with an alcohol content of 43 %.
The aroma reveals rich honey aromas, dried raisins, figs and dates, complemented by peach kernel, orange peel and hazelnuts. The taste is guaranteed to be complex — fruity sweetness, peaches, fresh orange, subtle spices, nuts and toffee notes intertwine with an oak structure.
Best enjoyed neat at room temperature to allow the layers of fruit and warming spices to fully develop. A few drops of water are enough to bring out the fruitiness. Ideal as an elegant digestif or a gift for whisky connoisseurs.
