Tajna Sunset Danube 2023

The red, dry wine Tajna Sunset from the Dunaj (Danube) variety comes from the Sari vineyard, Tajna winery, the 2023 vintage impresses with its fullness and dark ruby hue.

The nose is typically fruity with a distinctive expression of blackberries, sour cherries and blackcurrants. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied but beautifully juicy thanks to its pleasant acidity and expression of fruit notes.

The Dunaj variety is harvested in September and October. The mash, after skimming and milling, went to the vinifiers, where alcoholic fermentation took place.

After subsequent pressing and malolactic fermentation, the finished wine was ready for ageing in wooden barrels. The barrels were selected by the technologist according to the experience of previous vintages, so as to leave their signature in the wine, while at the same time preserving the varietal character. After a year of aging in wood, the wine was racked and bottled without filtration to preserve its naturally full colour, aroma and flavour.

We recommend serving at a temperature of 14-16 °C in red wine glasses of the 'Bordeaux' type with a volume of 550-650 ml.

The wine goes well with confit pork neck with roasted onion and pepper compote, served with mashed potatoes, accompanied by butter and rocket.
