Tajna Maxx Reserva 2019
Red, dry wine Tajna Maxx Reserva from the Merlot variety comes from the vineyard Sari, winery Tajna, vintage 2019 and was made from overripe grapes.
The wine initially dazzles with a beautifully intense aroma, featuring clear fruity notes, complemented by vanilla wood and chocolate-covered raisins.
The taste aligns with the aroma, creating a harmonious impression. Full mouthfeel of fruitiness is complemented by notes of dark chocolate, sweet wood with a hint of tobacco. The wine has fine tannins that make it sensual and velvety. The finish is very nice, long, enhancing the entire drinking experience.
The harvest of Merlot was done by hand, after selecting the ripest healthy whole bunches. The maceration of the must was carried out in vinifiers (stainless steel and wooden) with immersion. This achieved a significant extraction of aromatic and flavor compounds from the grapes into the must.
After the malolactic fermentation, the matured Merlot aged for 9 months in premium Seguin Moreau wooden barrels with varying degrees of toasting. After being transferred to smaller 300-liter barrique barrels, the aging process continued for another 6 months. The wine was then blended and bottled.
Serve at a temperature of 15 – 17 °C after decanting from a carafe in “bordeaux” shaped glasses with a volume of 550 – 650 ml.
We recommend pairing with Rib-eye steak with mustard aioli and lightly braised vegetables; roasted venison with cranberry sauce and polenta; with pork “pršut” and dark olive tapenade.
