How Single Malt Whisky is made

The foundation is malted barley, often dried over peat smoke, giving the whisky its distinctive smoky tone. Each cask shapes the flavour differently: ex-bourbon barrels bring notes of vanilla, while sherry casks add dried fruits and nuts.
