Rodnik’s Classic Absinthe is a traditional absinthe made according to original European recipes, embodying the true spirit of this legendary herbal liqueur. It comes from Destilerías Rodnik’s in Tarragona, Spain – one of the oldest distilleries in Europe, specializing in absinthe production since the 19th century.
It is made from natural herbs and spices, with wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), anise, and fennel being the dominant ingredients, complemented by other aromatic components such as coriander, lemon balm, and mint. This classic absinthe offers an authentic experience with a high alcohol content (70% ABV) and a rich, complex profile.
The aroma is distinctly herbal and aromatic, with notes of wormwood, sweet anise, and fresh fennel. The taste is full, intense, and bittersweet, with a long finish that leaves a trace of herbs, spices, and a subtle bitterness typical of true absinthe.
You can best enjoy Rodnik’s Classic Absinthe the traditional way, which enhances its rich aroma and releases the complex flavor of the herbs. Pour approximately 30 ml of absinthe into a glass, placing a special absinthe spoon with a sugar cube on top. Slowly pour ice-cold water over the sugar – approximately in a ratio of 1 part absinthe to 3 to 5 parts water, according to personal preference. As the water mixes with the distillate, the drink becomes cloudy (the so-called louche effect) and releases its delicate herbal aromas.
