Rodnik’s Classic Absinthe is a traditional absinthe crafted according to original European recipes, embodying the true spirit of this legendary herbal liqueur. It comes from Destilerías Rodnik’s in Tarragona, Spain – one of the oldest distilleries in Europe, specializing in absinthe production since the 19th century.
It is made from natural herbs and spices, with wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), anise, and fennel taking the lead, complemented by aromatic botanicals such as coriander, lemon balm, and mint. This classic absinthe offers an authentic experience with a high alcohol content (70 % ABV) and a rich, complex profile.
The aroma is distinctly herbal and aromatic, featuring notes of wormwood, sweet anise, and fresh fennel. The taste is full, intense, and bittersweet, with a long finish that leaves traces of herbs, spices, and a subtle bitterness typical of true absinthe.
Rodnik’s Classic Absinthe is best enjoyed in the traditional way, enhancing its rich aroma and revealing the depth of its herbal complexity. Pour about 30 ml of absinthe into a glass and place a special absinthe spoon with a sugar cube on top. Slowly pour ice-cold water over the sugar – approximately in a ratio of 1 part absinthe to 3–5 parts water, according to preference. As the water mixes with the spirit, the drink becomes cloudy (the louche effect), releasing its delicate herbal aromas.
