Rodnik’s Absinthe Bohéme Blue is a modern interpretation of classic absinthe, combining rich tradition with a striking visual and taste experience.
This absinthe comes from Spain, from the Destilerías Rodnik’s distillery in the Tarragona region – one of the oldest absinthe producers in Europe, where this legendary drink has been made according to traditional recipes since the 19th century.
It features a characteristic blue color, symbolizing bohemian spirit and creative freedom.
Its composition is dominated by wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), anise, and fennel, complemented by a blend of other aromatic herbs that add complexity and depth.
Rodnik’s Absinthe Bohéme Blue can be enjoyed in several ways – it depends on whether you want to experience the traditional absinthe ritual or a modern, simpler serving style.
Traditional French method (with water and sugar)
This is the classic and most authentic way to serve absinthe:
Pour approximately 30 ml of absinthe into a glass.
Place an absinthe spoon on the glass and put a sugar cube on it.
Slowly pour ice-cold water over the sugar (in a ratio of 1 : 3 to 1 : 5).
As the water flows, the absinthe will begin to cloud (“louche effect”) and herbal aromas will be released.
Stir the drink and enjoy slowly.
If you prefer a fresher and simpler drink, serve it over ice with a slice of lemon or lime. Or try it as Absinth-Tonic – 40 ml of Rodnik’s Bohéme Blue, topped with tonic, garnished with mint and citrus.
