Rodnik’s Absinthe Bohéme Blue is a modern interpretation of the classic absinthe, combining rich tradition with a striking visual and sensory experience.
This absinthe originates from Spain, crafted by Destilerías Rodnik’s in the Tarragona region – one of Europe’s oldest absinthe producers, where this legendary spirit has been made according to traditional recipes since the 19th century.
It is distinguished by its vibrant blue color, symbolizing bohemian spirit and creative freedom.
Its composition is dominated by wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), anise, and fennel, complemented by a blend of other aromatic herbs that give it depth and complexity.
Rodnik’s Absinthe Bohéme Blue can be enjoyed in several ways – depending on whether you want to experience the traditional absinthe ritual or a modern, simpler style of serving.
Traditional French method (with water and sugar)
This is the classic and most authentic way to serve absinthe:
Pour approximately 30 ml of absinthe into a glass.
Place an absinthe spoon on the glass and place a sugar cube on top of it.
Slowly pour ice-cold water over the sugar (in a ratio of 1:3 to 1:5).
As the water flows, the absinthe will begin to cloud ("louche effect") and the herbal aromas will be released.
Stir the drink and enjoy it slowly.
If you prefer a fresher and simpler drink, serve it on ice cubes with a slice of lemon or lime. Or try it as an Absinthe Tonic – 40 ml of Rodnik's Bohéme Blue, topped up with tonic water, garnished with mint and citrus.
