Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition

Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey that originally matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry Oloroso casks. The whiskey was then aged for several years in Tawny port wine casks, adding a new dimension to the profile used in this whiskey.

All whiskeys then completed their maturation journey by being finished in freshly seasoned Tawny port casks for a final aging period of 14 to 25 months.

Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition is the second limited edition added to the series after the Redbreast Pedro Ximénez Edition released in 2021 and the permanent expression and anchor of the Redbreast Lustau Edition series.

On the nose, we sense sweet and warming pastry notes of buttery baked goods accompanied by the aroma of caramelized almonds with subtle undertones of praline and dried cherries. In the background, the scent of floral honey lingers with whispers of delicate herbal character, while spice and oak highlight the sweet and full character of this beautifully balanced whiskey.

The palate is initially rich and nutty with notes of chocolate-covered hazelnuts and salted caramel, quickly followed by fresh plums and dried figs.

A gentle presence of tannins works in harmony with the juicy and creamy texture, evoking notes of orange marmalade with subtle hints of toasted oak.
