Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition

Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey that was originally matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry Oloroso casks. The whiskey was then matured in Tawny port wine casks for several years, adding a new dimension to the profile used in this whiskey.

All the whiskies then completed their maturation journey by blending in already freshly flavoured Tawny port casks for a final maturation period of 14 to 25 months.

The Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition is the second limited edition to be added to the series, following the Redbreast Pedro Ximénez Edition released in 2021 and the permanent expression and anchor of the series, the Redbreast Lustau Edition.

On the nose, we smell sweet and warming butterscotch notes accompanied by aromas of caramelized almonds with subtle undertones of praline and dried cherries. A floral honey aroma hovers in the background with a whisper of subtle herbal character, while spice and oak wood accentuate the sweet and full-bodied character of this beautifully balanced whisky.

The palate is rich and nutty at first with notes of chocolate-covered hazelnuts and salted caramel, quickly followed by fresh plums and dried figs.

The subtle presence of tannins works in harmony with the juicy and creamy texture, which evokes notes of orange marmalade with subtle hints of toasted oak.
