Gordon & Macphail Glentauchers Distillery Labels 2008
Add a tasting glass and elevate your experience to the next level!
This edition comes from the distillery Glentauchers, known for its smooth, fruity, and very clean distillation style. The independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail selected the vintage 2008, which beautifully demonstrates the typical Speyside profile after long maturation – sweet, fruity, and harmoniously balanced.
Whisky matured in carefully selected casks, which may consist of a combination of sherry and bourbon casks (G&M for Glentauchers 2008 most often uses first-fill sherry hogsheads or refill bourbon). The maturation highlighted notes of sweet oak, vanilla, honey, and ripe fruit.
The aroma is dominated by notes of ripe apples, pears, honeyed malt, vanilla, and buttery caramel. There are also subtle citrus notes and a touch of spice.
On the palate, the whisky is creamy and fruity – apple pie, pear compote, honey, delicate chocolate, sweet oak, complemented by notes of nutmeg and honey cookies. The finish is medium to long, smooth, with echoes of vanilla, almonds, sweet spices, and fresh fruitiness.
This expression is ideal for lovers of smooth, elegant Speyside whisky, who appreciate the pure fruity character and the precise work of independent bottlers.
