This edition comes from the Aultmore distillery, which is renowned for its exceptionally clean, light, and naturally sweet Speyside profile. The independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail selected the vintage 2009, which beautifully showcases the character of the distillate after years of careful maturation – fresh, elegant, and harmoniously layered.
The whisky matured in carefully selected ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, which imparted a delicate depth, sweet oak, and pure fruitiness without overshadowing the original character of the distillate.
The nose is dominated by notes of fresh pear, white grape, vanilla cream, green apple, and gentle honeyed malt. There are also hints of lemon zest and light spice.
The palate is smooth, clean, and creamy – honeyed barley, vanilla, sweet oak, pear compote, light citrus freshness, gentle spice, and creamy sweetness. A subtle hint of white chocolate and almonds gradually emerges.
The finish is medium-long, smooth, with traces of vanilla, sweet oak, gentle spice, and pure fruitiness.
This expression will appeal to lovers of gentle, elegant, and “clean” Speyside whisky, focusing on original malt elegance and natural freshness.
