Set Equiano + Doorly's 12 Year Old + Black Tears Spiced Free
Equiano is a unique Caribbean-African unflavored molasses Blended rum. It is a blend of rums from the Gray's distilleries on the African island of Mauritius and Foursquare on the island of Barbados.
It first aged for 10 years in ex-cognac and French oak Limousin barrels in Mauritius. It was then transported to Barbados, where it is blended with rum that has aged for at least 8 years in ex-bourbon American oak barrels. It is exclusively blended and bottled with an alcohol content of 43% at the world-renowned and best rum distillery Foursquare.
The rum is named after the Nigerian writer and Olaudah Equiano, who was a prominent abolitionist, traveler, and one of the first freedom fighters for slaves in Africa. He played a key role in the movement to abolish the death penalty. By trading rum, Olaudah bought his freedom from slavery and was able to dedicate himself to the movement for the liberation of slaves. For this reason, Equiano Rum Co donates 5% of its profits to support equality.
Equiano is blended and bottled exclusively at the Foursquare distillery in Barbados. Delivered in a gift tube.
