The first release in Equiano's Legacy Blend series, a celebration of the art of blending African and Caribbean heritage and the remarkable journey of the rum's namesake, Olaudah Equiano.
In the Yoruba language spoken by many West Africans, where Equiano was born, Ominira means "freedom." The freedom to create and combine historic rums from two continents, two cultures, two distilleries.
A rare blend of perfectly aged rums distilled by Foursquare and Gray's Distilleries, respectively, and aged in bourbon and cognac barrels, with a blend of sherry cask rums that contributed to its incredible depth and richness.
Aged for at least 11 tropical years and bottled at 52 %, reflecting the age of our protagonist at the start of his extraordinary journey and at his death in 1797, this creation is a true testament to the passage of time and the art of the blending process.
The result is an extraordinary piece of rum history - a rum that captures Equiano's freedom and spirit. An invitation to celebrate, to toast and share with friends.
The bottles have a capacity of 0,7 l and come in gift tube.
