Whisky Balvenie Creation Of A Classic is part of The Balvenie Stories series, celebrating the innovation of malt master David C. Stewart, who invented final maturation in sherry casks in the early 1980s.
The whisky is first matured in American white oak casks to acquire its basic vanilla and sweet notes, and then finishes in sweet Oloroso sherry casks to develop its character. It was launched in 2021 as a significant contribution to the brand's storytelling.
The aroma is aromatic and lively – a combination of vanilla, ginger, caramel, cloves and chai spices, which are laid on an earthy malt base. The taste is a perfectly balanced ratio of oat syrup, brittle caramel, delicate spices and a dry oak finish. The finish is long, with a pleasant dry oak finish.
This single malt is very accessible and is an ideal introduction for bourbon enthusiasts discovering the world of Scotch whisky, thanks to its smooth oak balance. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to bring out the layers of spice and ripe fruit.
The bottles are filled to 43 % alcohol by volume, have a volume of 0,7 l and come in gift tubes.
