The limited edition Caribbean rum No.1 Oloroso Sherry is the third edition of the Angostura Cask Collection. Rum comes from the island republic of Trinidad and Tobago. It matures for 22 years in American oak barrels and the last 9 months in ex-oloroso sherry barrels. Thanks to its smooth and delicate taste with tones of oak, nuts, fruit and lemon peel, it will bring you an unforgettable experience. Only 16,200 bottles were produced!
The aroma has a multi-layered profile offering warm and rounded notes of cocoa, molasses, oak and sweet plums, which are typical of oloroso. The taste is medium-bodied, balanced, with distinctive notes of oak wood, roasted nuts and subtle hints of sherry style, combined with sweet fruit tones and delicate tannins.
The finish is medium-long and smooth, with a subtle oak accent – juicy, clean and elegant – ideal for sipping with ice or neat.
Angostura is the only rum distillery in Trinidad, founded in the town of Laventille. As part of the Cask Collection, they explore different types of aging – from bourbon to French oak to sherry casks. No. 1 Oloroso Sherry is a historic milestone – the first significant use of oloroso casks in their portfolio.
