Angostura 1919 Deluxe Aged Blend is an extraordinary Caribbean rum. The number 1919 is particularly significant for Angostura rum, as in 1932 a fire broke out at the distillery with catastrophic consequences. The entire distillery was reduced to ashes. Only one barrel of rum, marked with the number 1919, survived. When the company got back "on its feet" after the fire, the goal of the master blenders was to create a rum that would be authentic to the rum consumed by the flames.
This is a perfect rum made by blending 8 rums, aged for different periods. The rum comes from Trinidad and Tobago. It is made from premium molasses grown by local farmers. It ages in American oak barrels, which impart exceptional flavor and a wonderful spicy aroma.
The bottle is presented in a very nice gray-black gift tube. We recommend serving it neat and slightly chilled or on the rocks.
