Piccini Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Piccini Brunello di Montalcino DOCG vintage is an Italian red wine made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes, late hand-harvested, from the Montalcino wine region, Italy (elevation 350 m above sea level).
The grapes for this wine are hand-picked during late summer, at the moment they reach perfect ripeness, usually in October. They are then fermented for 10 - 12 days in stainless steel tanks. A complex wine like Piccini Brunello di Montalcino gains its charm during aging, as the freshly fermented wine matures and slowly absorbs aromas and flavor notes from wooden barrels.
This red wine has matured to perfection for 20 months in oak barrels, followed by 4 months in barrique barrels, and then spent 24 months stored at a controlled temperature, with an additional 6 months resting in the bottle. Thus, it reaches true wine lovers up to 5 years after the grape harvest.
This Tuscan red wine pairs excellently with game and aged cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 18 ˚C.
