Piccini Sasso Al Poggio Rosso Toscana IGT is an Italian red wine made from a selection of the best grape clusters consisting of 60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet, and 20% Merlot, from the Tuscany IGT wine region, Italy. It is one of the so-called “Super Tuscan” wines named after its birthplace and the cradle of most red wines – the hilly Tuscany with clay and rocky soil. The name of the wine “Sasso al Poggio” also refers to this, which translates to stone on the hill. After vinification, the wine aged for a total of 12 months in oak barrels and 4 months in the bottle.
Aroma: black cherries, sweet licorice, forest floor, minerals, and vanilla notes from oak
Taste: deep, full, and juicy with a fruity base, beautifully integrated tannins, and a long, complex, clean, and heavy finish
Ideal with game and aged cheeses. Recommended to serve at a temperature of 18 ˚C.
