Meukow VSOP Borderies 1l
Meukow VSOP Borderies is a delicate and elegant cognac from the Borderies cru – the smallest but very distinctive appellation in the Cognac region. It has a golden colour with mahogany highlights and offers a complex profile ideal for honest enjoyment or as a base for cocktails.
This VSOP cognac is the result of double distillation of spirits (‘eaux-de-vie’) sourced exclusively from the Borderies cru. Maturation takes place in Limousin oak barrels – a traditional method that promotes the natural complexity of the drink. The entire process is carefully controlled by the cellar master, who ensures that the typical almond, fruity and spicy notes are preserved.
The nose opens with citrus and candied orange, which smoothly transitions into a heart full of hazelnuts and walnuts. The finish offers subtle spices and dried fruit, which complement the overall experience of a delicately sweet yet robust cognac.
The Meukow brand, founded in 1862 by the Meukow brothers in Cognac, quickly established itself as a supplier of cognacs to the tsarist court. They became world famous for their iconic bottle lined with a black panther, a symbol of courage and elegance. Today's VSOP Borderies represents a specialised craftsmanship approach within the broader portfolio of VSOP editions.
