Description
Martini Rosso is said to be the world's first vermouth. Its special colour is created by the addition of caramel, which also enhances the bittersweet effect of the more than 50 herbs and spices used in its production.
Its original recipe was prepared by Luigi Rossi around 1863. At its heart, rich and fragrant Italian herbs are blended with exotic woods giving an intense aroma with a bittersweet edge.
Martini Rosso has a beautiful fruity aroma with hints of guava and spice and pistachio. The taste is similar to sherry and there are hints of the botanicals used to make gin such as grapes, oak and spices. The finish is characterised by spicy and resinous notes.
It is bottled at 14,5 % alcohol and 0,75 l in volume.
