Lillet Rouge is a sophisticated vermuth from southwestern France, combining rich red wines from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with carefully selected macerated fruit liqueurs and herbal extracts. This slightly sweet and spicy apéritif has been crafted according to a traditional recipe since 1872 in the village of Podensac near Bordeaux.
Lillet Rouge is distinguished by its deep ruby-red color and rich aroma of dark berries, orange peel, vanilla, and spices. The flavor is full and well-balanced, featuring notes of ripe blackcurrants, plums, and delicate oak undertones from barrel aging.
It is perfect as an apéritif, served on its own, well-chilled, or with an ice cube and a slice of orange. It also pairs wonderfully in mixed drinks such as Lillet Rouge Tonic or Negroni and complements dark chocolate, cheese, or mildly spiced dishes.
