Kilchoman Port Cask Matured 2024 Edition

This limited edition single malt whisky Kilchoman Port Cask Matured 2024 Edition from the Kilchoman distillery on Islay matured in casks that held ruby port wine. For balance, two contrasting age categories were combined, with the youngest component maturing 6 years.

Kilchoman founder Anthony Wills emphasizes the importance of full maturation, noting its complexity and harmonious blend of natural citrus and Kilchoman sweetness with the influence of the port cask. Maturation in port wine casks adds another intense sweetness of cinnamon and figs to this single malt whisky.

The 2024 edition is the third in the Port Cask Matured series, which matured exclusively in ruby port casks. This approach of full maturation sets it apart from many others that typically use a finishing method.
