Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or Sauternes Cask

Scottish whisky Glenmorangie Nectar D’or is finished in casks that previously held sweet wine from Sauternes. This wine comes from the very famous Sauternes region in France, located in the Graves part of Bordeaux. In this area, traditionally very sweet white wines are produced. The casks used for making white dessert wine are loaded with sugars, which naturally infuse into the Glenmorangie Nectar D’or whisky during maturation.

"Golden Nectar" was first matured in standard oak casks, then transferred to bourbon casks from the Extra Matured series, and finally finished in casks that held white dessert wine from the Sauternes region. Glenmorangie is a renowned distillery of single malt whisky located north of the town of Tain, in Ross-shire in the Scottish Highlands.

Aroma: lime and orange peel, coconut, raisins, spices, and rich notes of dried fruit
Taste: ginger and nutmeg spice, roasted almonds, and lemon
Finish: sweet vanilla and lemon peel fading into white chocolate and spices
