Description
This is the first chance to try whiskey made from the recently reopened Glenglassaugh distillery. It was closed in 1986, but production resumed in 2008. This revived bottling is the first whiskey to be produced in this distillery since reopening. It matures in bourbon kegs filled for the first time and again filled, and finally ends 6 months in Oloroso sherry kegs filled for the first time.
Aroma: Sweet caramel and butter candy with tones of walnut sherry, milk chocolate and honey. Ripe plums, red berries and oranges. Caramelized sugar and earthy burnt oak.
Taste: Sweet, rounded and creamy. Oranges, plums, cherries and walnuts, chocolate, honey meadow, sherry and soft spicy oak.
Conclusion: Medium, with heating spices of mulled wine, sherry and caramel.
