Cihuatán Viento 15 Year Old is a premium Salvadoran dark rum and part of the unique Cihuatán Legacy Collection – a trio of rums inspired by natural elements revered by the Maya civilization. “Viento” represents wind, the divine force of change and movement, and this idea is reflected in the elegant, lightly dynamic flavour profile of this 15-year-old rum.
The rum is produced in El Salvador, where the entire process takes place on-site – from growing the sugarcane to distillation, ageing and bottling. It matures for at least 15 years in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon barrels, which give it smoothness, gentle vanilla and a beautifully balanced sweetness.
Cihuatán Viento 15 is a perfect example of how a rum with medium sweetness, an elegant woody undertone and subtle spice can embody the freshness and lightness of the wind element, while still maintaining the depth typical of long-aged rum.
