Cihuatán Folklore Travesía represents the most prestigious project of the Salvadoran distillery Cihuatán. Every year, Master Blender Gabriela Ayala personally selects several exceptional barrels that will become part of this collection. Each barrel is completely unique, filled individually, and assigned to only one business partner in the world. Each bottle is hand-numbered and bears the name of its owner – in this case, Bondston.
Our edition was created from barrel no. 469, which first aged for 15 years in American white oak barrels after bourbon in the tropical climate of El Salvador. The last year, the rum rested in a French oak barrel that previously held sweet white wine from Switzerland, giving it an exceptional aromatic profile full of fruity elegance and spicy notes.
The rum was distilled in 2009, bottled at a natural barrel strength of 55.25% alcohol, with no added sugar and no additives. Just as it left the barrel. Cihuatán publishes complete technical data for the Folklore series, including congeners, acidity, and tannins, confirming maximum transparency in production.
Only 198 bottles were produced from the barrel, each representing a unique original. Once this edition is sold out, it will never be possible to create an identical bottle, as each subsequent barrel will always have its own character and story.
