Chateau Selešťany Dunaj Rosé 2023 Discontinued

Chateau Selešťany Dunaj Rosé is a Slovak quality varietal wine rosé, dry. The wine with a protected designation of origin comes from the Central Slovak wine-growing region, village of Záhorce, vintage 2023.

The variety was bred at the Research Institute of Vine and Wine in Bratislava by the prominent and recognized Slovak varietal breeder, Dorota Pospíšilová.
Dunaj is a very high-quality variety of grape that comes from a triple crossing of varieties (Muscat Bouchet x Oporto) x Saint Laurent. It is grown only in Slovakia and marginally in the Czech Republic. In Slovakia, it makes up 0.024% of vineyards. The variety was recognized in 1997.
The breeder's goal was to create a variety that would be able to produce grapes with competitive parameters against foreign varieties even during a shorter growing season, which do not always meet the required parameters in our conditions.

The wine has a harmonious and full taste with fresh fruity tones of cherries, sour cherries, and even chocolate while maintaining the varietal character of the grape. Its taste often resembles southern wines.

It pairs especially well with desserts, and at full maturity, also with game and dark meats. Serve best at a temperature of 14 – 16°C.

Produced only in a limited series of 1300 bottles.
