Balvenie 12 Year Old Golden Cask
Balvenie 12 Year Old Golden Cask is an exceptional single malt whisky created in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, at the traditional family-owned The Balvenie distillery in Dufftown.
This elegant edition is characterized by a unique double maturation process – it first rests in American oak bourbon casks, which give it smooth notes of vanilla and honey. It then undergoes a final maturation in Caribbean rum casks, which gives it a depth of tropical fruit and a delicately spicy, exotic character. Originally intended exclusively for the travel retail market, it is now finding its way to a wider audience.
The aroma captivates with its harmonious combination of ripe tropical fruits – especially banana, mango, and pineapple – with notes of caramel, sweet oak, and vanilla pod. The aroma is fresh and fruity, yet rounded and warm. The combination of bourbon and rum barrels creates an aromatic profile full of depth and elegance that captivates from the very first sniff.
It is soft and smooth on the tongue, with a pleasant oily texture. The initial notes are sweet honey and creamy vanilla, which give way to layers of tropical fruit and caramel. Gradually, subtle spices and dry oak develop, adding balance and nobility.
The finish is long, warm and welcoming, with an aftertaste of coconut candy, spice and fruit, which slowly fades away. It is a complex yet accessible whisky – ideal for lovers of sweeter, balanced profiles with a hint of exoticism.
The bottles are filled with 43 % alcohol by volume, have a volume of 0,7 l, and come in gift tubes.
