Ron Zacapa Centenario X.O. is made from the most carefully selected rums with an average age of 25 years, which are then blended for over a year to achieve the perfect balance in aroma and flavor composition. Ron Zacapa Centenario aged in robust American whiskey barrels and Pedro Ximénez sherry wine barrels, and then finished in French oak barrels that previously aged cognac. You can best enjoy Zacapa XO neat or in a mixed drink.
The distillery boasts that their plantations are located in the best place in the world for sugarcane production, thanks to a combination of microclimate, soil, and temperature. When it comes time for fermentation, the distillery uses its own strain of yeast derived from pineapple. This yeast produces a specific aroma typical of Zacapa Centenario rums.
