Description
Ron Zacapa XO is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious rums and represents the pinnacle of the Zacapa range. It is distilled from fermented virgin sugar cane honey rather than molasses, resulting in exceptional smoothness and depth.
The rum is aged in the “House Above the Clouds” at approximately 2,300 metres above sea level, where cooler conditions allow slow and balanced maturation. Zacapa XO is aged using the solera system in a combination of American whiskey casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and finished in French oak cognac casks.
The result is an elegant and complex rum with notes of dried fruit, cocoa, vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate and gentle spice.
