Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva 1l is a premium Guatemalan rum that ranks among the most renowned rums in the world. It is made from the first pressing of virgin sugar cane (virgin sugar cane honey), which gives it natural smoothness, fuller sweetness, and an exceptionally smooth character.
This rum is a blend of distillates aged 6 to 23 years, maturing using the traditional Solera method. The aging takes place in barrels previously used for bourbon, sherry, and Pedro Ximénez wine, creating a complex flavor profile with notes of caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, cocoa, and subtle spices.
The uniqueness of Zacapa rum also lies in the aging process at an altitude of 2,438 meters above sea level in the so-called “House Above the Clouds.” The cooler mountain climate slows down evaporation and allows for a more harmonious development of flavors. The entire process is overseen by Master Blender Lorena Vásquez, who ensures a precise balance of aromas, texture, and color.
