This unique Guatemalan 12-Year-Old rum Zacapa Centenario Ambar was created by Lorena Vásquez, Master Blender at Zacapa, as a tribute to the volcanoes of Guatemala. The ash from them contributes to the fertile soil that gives a distinctive sweetness to the sugarcane used to produce Zacapa.
It is a blend of rums aged 4 to 12 years, maturing in the mountains at an altitude of 2300 meters, using the Solera system in barrels that previously held strong American whiskey and high-quality sherry from Jerez in charred American white oak barrels. Zacapa Centenario Ambar is excellent enjoyed neat, but it is also suitable for traditional rum cocktails like Mojito or Cuba Libre.
