Torabhaig Sound Of Sleat

Torabhaig, a distillery on the Isle of Skye that produces single malt whisky, presents Sound of Sleat, the fourth chapter in its Legacy series. Named after the sea strait that flows past the distillery and sharing its name with the Sleat peninsula on which the distillery stands, Sound of Sleat continues the Torabhaig whisky tradition, evoking the atmospheric mist and rugged beauty of the Misty Isle.

Torabhaig Sound of Sleat is matured exclusively in new American oak casks (Quercus Alba) and ex-bourbon casks. This whisky ripples with citrus and spicy notes, sea saltiness and rich smoke reminiscent of a spring fire on the beach. It stands out with the elegant smoke for which the distillery is known and revives the philosophy of ‘smoke with taste’ that flows through every drop the distillery produces.

The Sleat peninsula, known as the Garden of Skye, is the southernmost peninsula of the island, closest to the mainland and separated only by the Sound of Sleat. The rugged beauty of this area is home and creative muse to the distillery, shaping and inspiring a whisky as complex and captivating as the wild and rugged island itself.

Torabhaig, which embodies the beauty and artistry of the island, also unveils new artwork on the label, created exclusively for the distillery by local artists. The first, for Sound of Sleat, was painted by Skye-based artist Ellis O'Connor, whose vivid images celebrate the energy and movement of nature.

The bottles are filled with 46 % alcohol by volume, have a volume of 0,7 l and are supplied in gift boxes.
