Torabhaig, located on the picturesque Isle of Skye, embodies centuries of rich history and dedication to the art of whisky making. The journey of Torabhaig began in 1630, when Caisteal Chamuis, a historic castle built on the site of an iron fort, changed ownership for the last time and was passed to the MacDonald clan. This story became the foundation for a whisky brand that is deeply rooted in heritage.

In the mid-18th century, a farm was established on the site of Torabhaig, with records from 1763 mentioning the inhabited Knock House and a working farm. In the 1820s, the steading buildings were constructed from stone sourced from the abandoned Caisteal Chamuis castle.

After years of planning, in 2002, permits were issued for the construction of the distillery at Torabhaig. In 2014, the renovation project by Mossburn began, which included the installation of traditional double copper pot stills and fermentation tanks made from Douglas fir, specially designed and crafted by Forsyths of Rothes.

In 2017, distillation began at Torabhaig, and four years later, in 2021, the first Torabhaig single malt whisky was born. This whisky represents the perfect blend of history, craftsmanship, and tradition that intertwines in every drop.
