Located on the picturesque Isle of Skye, Torabhaig embodies centuries of rich history and dedication to the art of whisky making. Torabhaig's journey began in 1630 when Caisteal Chamuis, a historic castle built on the site of an iron fort, changed hands for the last time and fell to the MacDonald clan. This story became the basis for a whisky brand that is deeply rooted in heritage.

In the mid 18th century a farm was established on the site of Torabhaig, with records from 1763 showing an occupied Knock House and a working farm. In the 1820s, the buildings of the steading were built from stone that came from the abandoned castle of Caisteal Chamuis.

After years of planning, permits were issued in 2002 to build a distillery on Torabhaiga. In 2014 Mossburn's refurbishment project began, which included the installation of traditional double copper boilers and Douglas fir fermentation tanks, specially designed and manufactured by Forsyths of Rothes.

Distillation began at Torabhaig in 2017 and four years later, in 2021, the first Torabhaig single malt whisky was born. This whiskey represents a perfect combination of history, craft and tradition that come together in every drop.
